Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has faced a devastating year with 275 people martyred and 460 others injured in 636 terrorist attacks, according to a report by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.
The report, released by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), reveals the severe impact of terrorism on both civilians and security personnel. Among the martyrs, 142 were police officers and 133 were civilians, while the injuries included 214 police officers and 246 civilians.

The attacks, carried out by banned groups, included six suicide bombings, 113 IED blasts, and 355 shootings, further escalating security concerns in the region.
In response, the provincial government and CTD have intensified counter-terrorism measures. The CTD conducted 2,981 intelligence-based operations (IBOs), resulting in the deaths of 246 terrorists and the arrest of 739, including 29 high-profile targets.
Significant recoveries were made during these operations, including explosives, hand grenades, suicide jackets, and firearms, highlighting the persistent threat from insurgent networks.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur emphasized the government’s efforts to improve law and order, announcing a one billion rupees allocation for the CTD to enhance forensic capabilities and purchase 20 bomb-proof vehicles. These steps aim to strengthen the province’s security infrastructure and reduce terrorist threats.
