WhatsApp Business has introduced a major update in its latest beta version for Android (2.24.26.16), adding AI-powered replies and enhanced connectivity to the business platform. Available through the Google Play Beta Programme, the update also includes new theme colours for a more polished, user-friendly interface.
The update brings refreshed light and dark theme colours, replacing the previous light blue accents with black in the light theme and white in the dark theme. This change harmonizes the Android app with recent updates to the iOS version, making it easier to distinguish WhatsApp Messenger from WhatsApp Business.

One of the key highlights is the integration of AI-powered replies. Businesses can now use AI to answer customer messages, especially during periods when human agents are unavailable. The AI can handle routine inquiries, guide customers through purchases, and manage more complex queries using machine learning models tailored to the business.
To ensure transparency, customers will be notified when they interact with the AI system. Additionally, businesses can customize the AI responses to maintain consistency with their brand’s voice, providing a seamless customer experience.
Another feature introduced is the business platform connection, allowing businesses to link their WhatsApp Business accounts to the app via QR code, granting access to previously unavailable features. This includes the ability to share up to six months of one-on-one chat history, although group chat histories are not included.
Currently, these features are accessible to select beta testers, with broader availability expected in the coming weeks. Users are encouraged to update to the latest beta version to explore these new tools.
