Rawdah Mubarak, also known as the Garden of Paradise, is one of the most revered locations within the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. Spanning 397.5 square meters, this serene space lies between the Sacred Chamber (Hujra) and the Pulpit (Mimbar) and is distinguished by its vibrant green carpet. It is regarded as a blessed place where worship is believed to lead to paradise, and according to Islamic tradition, on the Day of Judgment, this land will be transported directly to paradise.
The area within Rawdah Mubarak holds profound historical and spiritual significance. It houses several important locations, including the Blessed Chamber, Mehrab Nabawi, and Mimbar Nabawi, along with the House of Aisha (RA).

Historically, Rawdah Mubarak was originally the residence of Aisha (RA), the beloved wife of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It was within this chamber where the Prophet (PBUH) peacefully passed away. The Sacred Chamber, which is divided into two parts, contains the graves of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Abu Bakr (RA), and Umar (RA), while the outer portion marks the boundaries of Fatima’s (RA) house, where the Prophet’s (PBUH) clothes once hung.
The Mehrab Nabawi, which was added by Umar bin Abdul Aziz in 91 AH, marks the spot where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) prayed following the change of the Qibla. This location is considered one of the holiest within the mosque. The Mimbar Nabawi, a pulpit introduced by Amir Muawiyyah (RA) with nine rungs, is where the Prophet (PBUH) delivered sermons. The current pulpit was installed by Sultan Murad in 998 AH.
The architectural design of Rawdah Mubarak features white marble columns adorned with gold details, adding to its magnificence. Each of the columns, known as ustuwanas, holds historical importance, marking significant events during the time of the Prophet (PBUH). The area is a place of deep reflection for Muslims and serves as a reminder of the early days of Islam and the cherished legacy of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions.
The dimensions of Rawdah Mubarak are impressive, measuring 15 meters by 26.5 meters. The southern side of the garden borders the Qibla, the western side is adjacent to the pulpit, and the eastern side is near the residence of Aisha (RA).
