Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to boost its operations by reactivating two long-grounded aircraft to cater to upcoming European and Hajj flights. This move comes as part of PIA’s broader strategy to expand its fleet and improve services in light of increasing demand for international travel.
The national carrier had grounded several planes due to financial constraints and maintenance issues, but with recent efforts to overcome these challenges, PIA is now aiming to improve its operational capacity. Reactivating these aircraft will allow PIA to resume direct flights to European destinations, a crucial market the airline has been trying to re-enter after restrictions were placed on its flights in the region.

Additionally, the reactivated planes will also support the upcoming Hajj operations, ensuring that the airline is prepared to handle the large volume of pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia. The move is expected to provide relief to thousands of passengers, as PIA continues to be the primary choice for many Pakistani pilgrims.
PIA officials have expressed optimism about the decision, stating that it will significantly enhance the airline’s performance and help regain its position in international markets. With these two aircraft set to return to service, PIA hopes to improve its reliability and service quality for both European routes and Hajj operations in the coming months.
