UN Voices Grave Concerns Over Israeli Actions in Gaza

A top United Nations official has expressed deep alarm over ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza, particularly highlighting the heavy civilian toll and the destruction of vital healthcare infrastructure. Stephanie Tremblay, a UN spokeswoman, condemned the strikes, which have resulted in significant Palestinian casualties and targeted medical facilities.

In a recent incident, Israeli forces reportedly set fire to parts of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza. Tremblay confirmed that an airstrike near the hospital had killed dozens, including healthcare workers. Hospital staff and patients were forced to evacuate under severe conditions, with reports of arrests and damage to the building.

Tremblay also emphasized the difficulties UN teams face in accessing besieged areas in northern Gaza, with their efforts to deliver aid being systematically blocked by Israeli authorities. She also raised concerns over the excessive use of force in Israel’s military operations across the West Bank, particularly in the Tulkarm refugee camp.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian resistance group Hamas denied Israeli claims that its fighters were using hospitals as a base, calling for an independent investigation into the military actions, which they described as part of a broader strategy of displacement and destruction.
