The EO-1 satellite, developed entirely in Pakistan, marks a major milestone in the country’s space endeavors and will play a key role in managing natural resources, responding to natural disasters, supporting food security, and boosting economic growth through informed decision-making and sustainable practices.

The satellite will also provide significant advantages for Pakistan’s agricultural sector, enabling precision farming through crop monitoring, irrigation assessments, yield predictions, and supporting food security efforts.

Earlier, in May 2024, Pakistan launched its first multi-mission satellite, PAKSAT MM1, from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in China.

The EO-1 satellite is positioned 36,000 kilometers above Earth’s surface and has a 15-year lifespan, equipped with advanced communication technology, according to SUPARCO.
