An American woman, in search of love, was left stranded in Karachi by a 19-year-old Pakistani who had promised to marry her. The woman, who left her husband and two children, traveled to Pakistan after forming an online relationship with the young man, a resident of Garden West.

Upon her arrival, the man failed to show up, citing family opposition to the relationship. The woman spent a harrowing week at Jinnah International Airport until the Sindh government and JDC Foundation arranged her return home and provided medical assistance.
