Thirteen Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials were dismissed on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s orders after their alleged involvement in the Greek boat tragedy. The FIA Director General Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir confirmed ongoing disciplinary proceedings against the dismissed personnel, who were stationed at Faisalabad Airport during the incident.
The sacked officials include an inspector, two sub-inspectors, two head constables, and eight constables. Additionally, promotions of three constables were halted. Jahangir emphasized the agency’s zero tolerance for negligence, reiterating its commitment to combating human trafficking and holding culprits accountable.

This follows earlier dismissals of 37 FIA officials over similar incidents, reflecting the government’s stance on ensuring justice for victims and eradicating human trafficking networks.
Pakistan’s mission in Greece confirmed five Pakistani casualties in the tragedy, with 47 individuals rescued. PM Shehbaz Sharif has ordered stringent actions to prevent future occurrences and to punish those exploiting innocent citizens.
