President Asif Ali Zardari will embark on a state visit to China from February 4 to 8 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. The visit, confirmed by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), is seen as an effort to further reinforce the longstanding strategic relationship between the two countries.
During his stay in Beijing, President Zardari will engage in high-level meetings with President Xi, Premier Li Qiang, and other senior officials. The discussions will focus on expanding economic cooperation, trade, security collaboration, and progressing with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Both sides are also expected to exchange views on regional and global issues.

President Zardari will also attend the inaugural ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, at the special invitation of the Chinese government. His participation in this event reflects the growing cultural and diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China.
The visit comes at a critical time, as Pakistan seeks to boost its economy and enhance regional connectivity through CPEC, a key project under China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The trip is expected to result in agreements aimed at deepening economic cooperation and addressing regional security challenges.
Last week, President Zardari extended New Year greetings to President Xi, expressing his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations further. The visit underscores the resilience of the “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” between the two nations.
