Mango Festival in Beijing Celebrates 75 Years of Pakistan-China Relations

Mango Festival in Beijing Celebrates 75 Years of Pakistan-China Relations

The Pakistan Embassy in China hosted a Mango festival in Beijing to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. The event highlighted Pakistanโ€™s agricultural products, cultural heritage, and growing trade partnership with China.

The event was held at Pakistan House under the theme โ€œPakistanโ€“China Silk Road Mango Festival 2026.โ€ It was organized in collaboration with the Asia-Africa Trade Promotion Office.

More than 400 guests attended the celebration. The audience included Chinese government officials, diplomats, business leaders, media representatives, cultural organizations, and members of the Pakistani business community.

Pakistanโ€™s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, addressed the gathering during the event. He described Pakistani mangoes as the โ€œking of fruitsโ€ and said they represent the countryโ€™s rich agricultural heritage and warm hospitality.

He added that sharing mangoes with Chinese friends symbolizes the strong friendship between the two countries. According to the ambassador, the Mango festival reflects the deepening relationship between Pakistan and China.

Visitors enjoyed several premium Pakistani mango varieties during the exhibition. These included Sindhri, Chaunsa, Anwar Ratol, and Dusehri, which are among Pakistanโ€™s most popular export varieties.

The festival also showcased mango-based products to demonstrate opportunities for value-added exports. Officials said these products could help expand Pakistanโ€™s agricultural trade in international markets.

Representatives from several Chinese organizations attended the event. These included the China International Cultural Exchange Centre and the China Fruit Marketing Association. Officials from Beijing and other cities also participated.

A key highlight of the Mango festival was the signing of two memoranda of understanding between Pakistani and Chinese companies. The agreements aim to strengthen cooperation in mango trade, transportation, and logistics.

Officials said the new partnerships would improve commercial ties and create additional opportunities for exporters from both countries. They also expect greater collaboration in the agricultural sector.

The event featured cultural performances that celebrated the friendship between Pakistan and China. Pakistani music group Kaltoor performed traditional songs, while students from the Pakistan Embassy College Beijing presented musical performances from both countries.

The cultural activities added another dimension to the celebration. Guests enjoyed music, traditional hospitality, and opportunities to learn more about Pakistanโ€™s culture.

The second edition of the Mango festival was described as another important step in strengthening people-to-people connections. Organizers said such events help promote mutual understanding beyond trade and diplomacy.

Pakistan continues to expand agricultural exports to China through stronger commercial partnerships. Mangoes remain one of the country’s most recognized fruit exports and are increasingly popular among Chinese consumers.

Officials expressed hope that future editions of the festival would attract even greater participation. They believe continued cooperation will strengthen cultural, economic, and agricultural relations between the two friendly nations.

The successful event demonstrated how cultural celebrations and agricultural trade can work together to deepen bilateral ties. Organizers said the Mango festival will continue to serve as a platform for promoting Pakistanโ€™s products and reinforcing its long-standing friendship with China.
