At the World Governments Summit 2025 in Dubai, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a significant meeting with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The discussion centered around Pakistan’s ongoing IMF programme, highlighting the government’s success in achieving macroeconomic stability through a comprehensive reform agenda.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to structural reforms and fiscal discipline, which have been vital in stabilizing the country’s economy. These reforms are expected to pave the way for sustainable growth in the future, focusing on key areas like tax reforms, energy sector improvements, and private sector development.
