The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has issued arrest warrants for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including Omar Ayub, Aamir Dogar, and Aamir Mughal, for their absence during a hearing related to the violation of Section 144. Judicial Magistrate Shahzad Khan presided over the case, which also involves PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan.
During the hearing, Barrister Gohar Khan’s request for exemption from attendance was approved, while the defense’s requests for acquittal could not be addressed. The court has adjourned the case until April 23. Two cases have been registered against Barrister Gohar Khan and others at the I-9 Police Station in Islamabad.

In a separate case, an anti-terrorism court granted bail to 18 PTI workers who had been detained for 92 days following protests in November 2024. Defense lawyers argued that these individuals were wrongfully arrested from their homes and that protesting is a constitutional right. The court ordered their release due to insufficient evidence, requiring each detainee to submit surety bonds of Rs0.1 million.
Further hearings for the bail petitions of over 1,200 arrested PTI workers are scheduled to begin on Monday, March 3.
