Police have discovered four hand grenades in three coaches of the Jaffar Express, which was targeted in a terrorist attack last week. The coaches were brought to Quetta Railway Station last night, where one grenade was defused, while efforts are underway to neutralize the others.
The coaches have been moved to the Railway Loco Shed for repairs. Due to incomplete repair work and pending cleaning tasks, the Jaffar Express, scheduled to travel from Quetta to Peshawar, will not depart tomorrow.

The train was hijacked in Balochistan’s Bolan Pass, where terrorists held passengers hostage inside a tunnel. A rescue operation led by security forces resulted in the safe liberation of hostages. However, 21 passengers were martyred before the operation began, and four Frontier Corps personnel also lost their lives during the mission.
In response to the incident, Balochistan has closed three universities due to heightened security concerns, with two institutions in Quetta shut indefinitely and a third transitioning to virtual learning.
