A large number of cases involving violence against women have been reported in the first quarter of 2025. From January to March 31, 27 women were murdered, and 151 women were raped, as per official records.
According to the police department’s data, 1,182 women were kidnapped during this period. Of these, 988 were recovered, while 194 remain missing.

Additionally, 138 children were kidnapped, with 14 still unaccounted for. Out of the 151 rape cases, 110 suspects were arrested, while 41 remain at large. There were also 47 reported cases of child sexual assault, with 44 suspects apprehended and three still on the run.
DIG Faisal Kamran emphasized the government’s zero-tolerance stance on crimes against women and children. He stated that most of the cases have been resolved, and efforts continue to apprehend the remaining suspects.
