Two Sisters Victimized in Gang-Rape During Robbery Attempt in Kamalia

Two sisters in Kamalia have reportedly been subjected to gang-rape during a robbery attempt, sparking widespread outrage in the area. The incident has raised alarms about the increasing number of sexual assaults during robberies in the Punjab region.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), four armed robbers broke into the family’s home, tied up the other members, and subjected the two women to brutal abuse. The robbers also stole valuables worth over Rs 7 lakh, including cash, jewelry, and other precious items, before fleeing.

The family filed the complaint at the Kamalia Sadar Police Station, where the incident has been registered under sections 376 (gang rape) and 392 (robbery) of the Pakistan Penal Code. The robbers initially ambushed the family in a field, forcing the complainant to open the door to his home, where they restrained the family and took the women outside to assault them.

Local police have pledged to use all available resources to catch the criminals. Medical examinations of the victims have been completed, and the reports are still pending.

The community in Kamalia is in shock, expressing their horror at the crime and demanding swift justice. There are calls for stronger measures to prevent such violent incidents in the future.

This attack follows a similar robbery and assault case reported just days earlier in Faisalabad, where a woman was also raped during a robbery. Both cases involve armed men breaking into homes, committing robberies, and violently assaulting women, prompting widespread concerns for public safety, particularly that of women.

As the investigation progresses, public anxiety grows over the rise in such crimes, which not only endanger personal safety but also highlight potential weaknesses in law enforcement’s ability to prevent such acts. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information on the suspects to come forward and help ensure justice is served.
