At least 38 people were killed and over 100 injured in Yemen following a US airstrike on the Ras Isa oil terminal on Thursday, according to Houthi-controlled media.
The Ministry of Health, led by the Houthis, confirmed the death toll and injuries, stating that the casualties were workers at the fuel port. The wounded have been transported to hospitals for treatment.

The US Central Command confirmed the airstrike, stating its goal was to target the Houthis’ economic resources, which the US accuses them of exploiting to cause suffering among Yemen’s population.
Since November 2023, the Houthis have been involved in numerous drone and missile strikes on ships, claiming they were targeting vessels connected to Israel in retaliation for the ongoing violence in Gaza.
After a brief ceasefire during the Gaza conflict, the Houthis resumed their attacks, vowing to target ships once again following Israel’s renewed military actions in Gaza. In March, previous US strikes killed over 50 people, according to Houthi officials.
