Neeraj Chopra Invites Arshad Nadeem to International Javelin Event in India

India is preparing to host a prestigious international javelin event named after Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra, featuring top athletes from around the globe, including Pakistan’s renowned javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem.

This marks the first time India will organize such a high-profile competition to honor Chopra, its javelin legend. During a media interaction on April 21, Neeraj revealed that he had personally invited Arshad Nadeem to participate in the tournament.

Neeraj mentioned that Arshad would consult with his coach before giving a final confirmation and that the invitation would require approval from Pakistani authorities as well.

Alongside Nadeem, several leading Indian athletes, including Rohit Yadav, and javelin stars from Europe have already confirmed their participation. Initially planned for Panchkula, Haryana, the event has been moved to Bengaluru due to logistical and infrastructure issues.

If Arshad Nadeem accepts the invitation and visits India, it could be a significant moment in sports diplomacy between the two nations. Both Arshad Nadeem and Neeraj Chopra have emerged as the top javelin throwers in South Asia, with Arshad Nadeem recently making headlines for winning the gold at the Paris Olympics with a record throw of 92.97 meters, surpassing Neeraj Chopra’s 89.45-meter throw.
