The Government of Pakistan’s official account on X (formerly Twitter), @GovtofPakistan, has been withheld in India following a legal demand. Users in the country trying to access the page are met with a notification stating that the account has been withheld in response to a legal request.
This latest development comes amid heightened diplomatic friction between India and Pakistan, driven by a series of recent political and security-related events. Despite the restriction in India, the account remains accessible to users in other parts of the world.

This isn’t the first time India has taken such action against the Pakistani government’s social media accounts. Similar measures were implemented in July and October of 2022, also citing legal grounds for the restrictions.
