Trump Urges India and Pakistan to Resolve Kashmir Tensions Themselves

As the Kashmir conflict once again stoked historical hostilities between India and Pakistan, US President Donald Trump refrained from offering direct mediation, expressing confidence that both nations would manage the crisis independently.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump acknowledged the deep-rooted nature of the Kashmir dispute and said, “They’ll get it figured out one way or the other,” signaling a hands-off approach.

Despite being familiar with the leadership of both countries, Trump did not confirm any plans to personally intervene or reach out amid rising tensions following a deadly assault in Indian-administered Kashmir.

The attack in Pahalgam valley left 26 people dead, sparking accusations from India toward Pakistan and worsening relations between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, affecting water agreements, airspace access, and trade.

The ongoing instability also rattled financial markets, with Indian stock exchanges seeing sharp declines on fears of escalating conflict.
