The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned of ongoing heatwave conditions in several regions of Pakistan, including Sindh, southern Punjab, and Balochistan, with temperatures expected to stay as much as 7°C higher than usual.
Cities like Lahore, Peshawar, Sargodha, and Multan are predicted to experience temperatures reaching or surpassing 40°C, while areas such as Sukkur, Nawabshah, Mithi, Sibi, and Turbat could see temperatures of 45°C or more.

On Sunday, Nawabshah recorded the highest temperature in the country, hitting 48°C. In Karachi, temperatures are forecast to range between 36°C and 38°C, with humidity levels at 76% and sea breezes blowing at 9 km/h.
Due to the rising heat, the Punjab Education Department has decided to begin summer vacations earlier than usual. Schools in the province will now close for the summer holidays starting June 1.
