Pakistan’s 5G Users Reach 1.3 Million Across 23 Cities

Pakistan’s 5G user base has reached around 1.3 million as next-generation mobile services continue expanding nationwide.

According to the latest rollout figures, services are now available across 23 cities in Pakistan.

Telecom operators have activated more than 1,200 sites as they continue expanding their next-generation mobile networks. The rollout gained momentum after the government held its spectrum auction in March 2026.

Jazz, Zong and Ufone secured spectrum during the auction. Commercial services started later that month after operators signed their licence agreements.

Earlier data from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority showed rapid growth in network infrastructure.

As of August 4, PTA data showed 1,136 5G sites operating across 23 cities. Jazz had the largest network deployment with 689 sites. Zong followed with 338 sites, while Ufone operated 109 sites.

Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad recorded the largest deployments among the cities covered by the network. The latest figures indicate that operators have continued adding infrastructure since the PTA data was recorded.

The rollout has also expanded significantly compared with figures reported in July. At that time, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority informed the National Assembly about the progress of the network.

PTA said services had reached 22 cities and were operating through 449 sites at that stage. The increase shows how quickly telecom operators have expanded their infrastructure during the phased rollout.

Operators are expected to continue deploying additional sites across Pakistan. The licensing framework requires telecom companies to gradually expand coverage beyond major urban areas.

This means more cities could receive next-generation mobile connectivity as operators develop the required infrastructure. The government and PTA are also monitoring the expansion process.

Authorities are tracking network coverage and capacity as telecom companies continue their deployments. The broader objective is to improve mobile internet speeds and provide more reliable connectivity to consumers.

Faster networks could also support businesses that depend on digital services and high-speed mobile internet. The growing user base indicates increasing adoption as network availability expands to additional locations.

However, access will continue to depend on network coverage, compatible devices and services offered by individual operators.

With around 1.3 million users already connected, Pakistan’s 5G rollout has reached an important early milestone. More than 1,200 sites are now reported nationwide, while services have expanded across 23 cities.
