Unauthorized Hajj Travel to Face Harsh Penalties, Says Saudi Ministry

Saudi Arabia has announced strict new measures to regulate the Hajj pilgrimage, warning of hefty fines and legal consequences for those attempting to perform Hajj without official authorization. The Ministry of Interior confirmed that individuals found violating these rules will face fines of up to 20,000 Saudi Riyals.

The crackdown extends to those on visit visas who try to enter the holy sites during the pilgrimage period. Any form of facilitation—whether transportation, accommodation, or logistical support—will result in penalties of up to 100,000 Riyals for the provider.

Authorities emphasized that these violators, along with their helpers, will be deported and barred from re-entering the Kingdom for up to 10 years. The enforcement period for these penalties will begin on the 1st of Dhul Qadah and continue until the 14th of Dhul Hijjah.

The ministry reiterated that the new rules are designed to maintain the safety, order, and sanctity of the Hajj pilgrimage, urging both residents and visitors to strictly follow the guidelines.
