Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has confirmed that the national security advisers (NSAs) of Pakistan and India have established contact following a sharp escalation in hostilities between the two nuclear-armed neighbours. The disclosure comes as both nations remain on high alert after recent cross-border aggression.
In an interview with Turkish broadcaster TRT World, Dar described India’s recent airstrikes as a grave and unforgivable act of aggression. “India has taken a war step against Pakistan,” he asserted, emphasizing that Islamabad reserves the right to defend its sovereignty and deliver a decisive response to any future provocations.

Dar confirmed that backchannel communication had taken place between the two countries’ top security officials, a sign that diplomatic avenues remain partially open despite the heightened military tensions. He reiterated that Pakistan is prepared for all scenarios but remains open to dialogue.
Additionally, Dar revealed that Türkiye was the first nation to formally condemn India’s deadly airstrikes, which resulted in the deaths of 31 civilians in Pakistan. He shared that the first call of solidarity he received post-attacks was from Türkiye’s foreign minister, highlighting Ankara’s swift support in the crisis.
