Parineeti Chopra Slams Indian Media For Spreading Misinformation Amid Tensions

Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra has publicly criticised sections of the Indian media for spreading fake news and fuelling public fear during the ongoing escalation between India and Pakistan. In a statement posted on her Instagram story, Chopra warned that unverified and misleading information was deepening public anxiety at a critical time.

She urged citizens to rely solely on official sources and called on media houses to act with greater responsibility and accuracy. “The most harmful thing right now is the spread of unverified and misleading information,” she wrote, highlighting the importance of journalistic accountability.

Her comments come amid growing criticism of Indian media’s coverage of recent military developments, with many accusing news outlets of amplifying anti-Pakistan sentiment and sensationalising events. Actress Sonakshi Sinha also voiced similar concerns earlier, calling out the sensationalism that, she said, has turned news channels into “a joke.”

Sinha stressed that media professionals should avoid creating panic and resist turning conflict into a spectacle, urging them to focus on truthful and responsible reporting.
