Trump Offers to Mediate Kashmir Issue After India-Pakistan Ceasefire

Pakistan

Following a U.S.-brokered ceasefire between India and Pakistan, former President Donald Trump expressed pride in the de-escalation, calling it a “historic and heroic” step while also promising to mediate the Kashmir dispute.

Trump, writing on Truth Social, said the U.S. played a key role in stopping further missile exchanges between the nuclear neighbors, and vowed to boost trade ties with both nations. He also hinted at working toward a long-term Kashmir solution, saying, “After a thousand years, maybe a solution can be reached.”

The ceasefire came after Pakistan’s Operation Bunyan-un-Marsus, which used β€˜Fatah 2’ missiles to strike key Indian military targets in retaliation for earlier Indian attacks.

While official statements from India and Pakistan are awaited, U.S. sources confirmed Washington’s backchannel diplomacy helped bring both sides to the negotiating table.
