Pakistan Appeals to Saudi Arabia to Restore Private Hajj Quota

In a final effort to reinstate Pakistan’s private Hajj quota for 2025, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has sent a formal appeal to Saudi authorities, written in both English and Arabic. The letter emphasizes that many of the 67,000 excluded pilgrims are elderly and may miss their last chance to perform Hajj.

The ministry explained that technical problems and delayed payments to service providers caused these pilgrims to be left out of this year’s arrangements. It urged Saudi officials to allow these pilgrims to participate, assuring full compliance with all future rules and deadlines.

Highlighting the emotional impact, the appeal stressed the pain and disappointment of the affected pilgrims, many of whom are advanced in age. It also noted that the necessary funds are already with Saudi authorities and requested that any remaining space in Mina be allocated to Pakistan.

The ministry pledged that starting next year, the private sector will strictly adhere to all Hajj regulations. The letter described granting permission this year as an act of Islamic brotherhood and compassion.
