Apple has announced a range of new accessibility features to support people with vision and hearing impairments. The update includes personal voice replication, enhanced braille support, live captions, and a new screen magnifier — all available for free across Apple devices.
A standout feature is “Personal Voice,” which lets users recreate their own voice using just 10 phrases. Apple promises privacy with on-device encryption unless backed up to iCloud. Other tools like the screen magnifier and Live Listen for AirPods aim to improve classroom and public audio experiences.

In a major step, app developers will now have to display accessibility “nutrition labels” in their app listings to inform users which assistive features are supported.
Apple says these tools empower users and reduce the need for costly, separate devices. Vision Australia welcomed the move, calling it a game-changer, especially for students and braille users.
The features will roll out later this year, as Google also introduces similar AI-powered tools for Android.
