Pakistan has confirmed two new polio cases, both from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), increasing the country’s total to 10 cases in 2025.
The National Institute of Health (NIH) reported that one child from Lakki Marwat and another from Bannu districts tested positive for the wild poliovirus following laboratory tests in Islamabad.

These recent detections raise the number of polio-affected children in KP to five this year.
Both cases involve children under five years old, and authorities are investigating their vaccination records and trying to identify the source of the infections.
