Ronaldo Drops Shocking Hint: Is His Al Nassr Chapter Coming to an End?

Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted at a possible exit from Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr following the conclusion of the Saudi Pro League, posting a cryptic message on social media suggesting the “chapter is over.”

The 40-year-old Portuguese forward, who joined Al Nassr in late 2022 after his high-profile departure from Manchester United, shared a photo wearing the club’s jersey with the caption: “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”

Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr is set to expire this summer, and although there has been no official word on his future, his message implies he might be moving on from the Riyadh-based team. During his stint with Al Nassr, Ronaldo has been a key player, scoring 24 goals this season and finishing as the top scorer in the Saudi Pro League.

Despite his efforts, the club ended the season without any trophies, placing third in the league and exiting the AFC Champions League in the semifinals against Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale.

Speculation about Ronaldo’s next move has grown, especially with the inaugural 32-team FIFA Club World Cup scheduled to start in the U.S. on June 14. While Al Nassr did not qualify for the event, FIFA President Gianni Infantino mentioned ongoing talks that could see Ronaldo join one of the participating teams. “There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup… who knows,” Infantino said during an interview with YouTuber IShowSpeed.

This potential move could reignite the long-standing rivalry between Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, who will compete in the Club World Cup with Inter Miami. Although Ronaldo had previously suggested he might retire at Al Nassr, he now appears open to other possibilities as he approaches the final stages of his illustrious career, which has included spells at Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

The Club World Cup transfer window opens from June 1 to June 10, allowing teams to register new players. Whether Ronaldo will participate in the tournament — and which club he might represent — remains uncertain.
