Two individuals have been arrested by the police for stealing over 9,600 books intended for free distribution to students in government schools. The theft occurred at the Department of Education, where these books, printed by the Government of Punjab for primary school students, were meant to be handed out at no cost.
The City Police Station acted swiftly after receiving a complaint about the incident. The stolen books, valued at thousands of rupees, were recovered from the suspects during the operation.

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani promptly took charge of the case upon learning about the theft, directing efforts to arrest those involved and recover the missing books as quickly as possible.
With the help of advanced technical tools and human intelligence, the police managed to apprehend the main culprits and retrieve all the stolen materials.
Authorities have also indicated that additional accomplices and facilitators connected to the suspects will be arrested soon.
A police spokesperson confirmed that the detained individuals will face formal charges supported by strong evidence to ensure they receive suitable legal consequences.
