Met Office Forecasts Rain in Punjab and Several Parts of Pakistan Until June 5

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted widespread rain and thunderstorms in different parts of the country during the first week of June. According to the latest weather advisory, a westerly wave is expected to enter the upper regions of Pakistan on June 2 and remain active until June 5.

Under the influence of this weather system, several cities in Punjab are likely to experience rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. In some areas, heavy rainfall and hailstorms may also occur.

The latest Punjab Rain Forecast indicates that cities including Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Kasur, Okara, Bahawalpur, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, and Rahim Yar Khan could receive rainfall between June 2 and June 5.

Weather officials said the rain activity is expected to occur with occasional breaks. Residents are advised to remain updated with local weather alerts during this period.

The PMD has also forecast similar weather conditions in Islamabad, Murree, and the Galliyat region. Dust storms and thunderstorms may accompany rainfall in some locations.

Beyond Punjab, rain-bearing clouds are expected to affect several areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Districts including Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Rawalakot, Bagh, Kotli, Mirpur, and Bhimber are likely to receive rain and thunderstorms from June 2 to June 5.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, rainfall is expected from June 4 to June 6. Areas such as Gilgit, Hunza, Skardu, Astore, Ghizer, Diamir, Ghanche, and Shigar may experience wet weather during this period.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also expected to receive widespread rain. Forecast areas include Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Malakand, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan. Some districts could witness heavy showers and hailstorms.

Meanwhile, upper Sindh is likely to receive dust-thunderstorm rain from June 2 to June 4. PMD has identified Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Khairpur, Dadu, Ghotki, Kashmore, Shikarpur, and Shaheed Benazirabad among the areas expected to be affected.

The latest Punjab Rain Forecast suggests a temporary break from hot and dry weather conditions in many districts. The incoming weather system may bring cooler temperatures and improved conditions for residents.
