Lahore Announces Traffic Plan for Pakistan vs Australia ODI at Gaddafi Stadium

Lahore Traffic Police has announced a special traffic management plan ahead of the second Pakistan vs Australia ODI scheduled at Gaddafi Stadium. The plan aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and provide convenience to cricket fans traveling to the venue.

According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Ali Raza Shirazi, comprehensive traffic and security arrangements have been finalized for the match day. The measures are designed to minimize congestion and maintain normal movement across the city.

A large number of traffic officials will be deployed on major roads and surrounding areas. More than 1,000 traffic wardens will perform duties during the Pakistan vs Australia ODI. Additional officers, including SPs, DSPs, and inspectors, will also assist in managing traffic operations.

To handle emergencies and reduce disruptions, the traffic police will deploy 10 forklifts and five breakdown vehicles. These vehicles will help remove stalled cars and clear roads quickly if needed.

Parking Arrangements for Cricket Fans

Authorities have established four designated parking areas for spectators attending the match. The parking facilities are intended to help fans reach the stadium conveniently while reducing traffic pressure around Gaddafi Stadium.

Traffic officials have advised visitors to use the designated parking zones and follow directions provided by wardens on duty. This is expected to improve traffic management and ensure a smoother experience for cricket fans.

Major Roads to Remain Open

The CTO confirmed that key roads across Lahore will remain open throughout the match. Important routes including Mall Road, Canal Road, Jail Road, and Main Boulevard Gulberg will continue to operate normally.

Officials stated that no major road closures are planned for the Pakistan vs Australia ODI. However, brief traffic stoppages may occur during the movement of team convoys for security purposes.

The traffic police emphasized that any temporary diversions will be removed immediately after team movements are completed. This approach is intended to reduce inconvenience for commuters and residents.

Efforts to Minimize Disruption

The traffic management plan has been prepared to balance security requirements with the daily movement of the public. Authorities expect large crowds around Gaddafi Stadium and have arranged additional personnel to handle the increased traffic volume.

Cricket fans are encouraged to leave early, follow official traffic advisories, and cooperate with traffic wardens. The Lahore Traffic Police believes these measures will help maintain smooth traffic flow during one of the city’s major sporting events.
