David Beckham Receives Knighthood from King Charles III for Sport and Charity

Football legend David Beckham has officially been knighted by King Charles III in recognition of his outstanding contributions to sport and charity work. With this honor, the 50-year-old will now be known as Sir David Beckham, while his wife, fashion designer and former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham, will be referred to as Lady Beckham.

Beckham, who earned 115 caps for England and starred for clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid, expressed his deep gratitude, calling the knighthood a “truly humbling honour.” He reflected on his upbringing in East London, where his family instilled in him a deep sense of patriotism and pride in being British.

Previously awarded the OBE in 2003, Beckham’s elevation to knighthood marks a significant milestone in a career that has seen him evolve from a sportsman into a global fashion and philanthropic icon. Victoria Beckham was also honored in the past for her contributions to the fashion industry.

The recognition crowns decades of work, not just on the pitch, but also through Beckham’s involvement in numerous charitable causes and global initiatives.
