The White House announced on Wednesday that U.S. President Donald Trump is likely to make a decision within the next two weeks regarding potential American military involvement in the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that President Trump is currently evaluating the possibility of U.S. engagement, keeping in view the chances of diplomatic negotiations with Tehran.

Quoting the president, Leavitt said, “Given the real possibility of upcoming talks with Iran, I will determine within the next two weeks whether or not to proceed with military action.”
This statement comes amid intensifying hostilities in the Middle East, following a series of confrontations between Israel and Iran over recent weeks.
Leavitt emphasized the U.S. administration’s belief that Iran is now closer than ever to acquiring nuclear weapons. She noted that President Trump is being consistently briefed on the situation by U.S. intelligence agencies and the National Security Council.
She also highlighted Trump’s ongoing communication with Israeli leadership, particularly Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, reflecting close coordination between the two allies.
Despite stressing a commitment to diplomacy, Leavitt stated that the president remains ready to resort to military measures if necessary. “President Trump is firm in his desire to resolve conflicts through diplomatic channels but will not hesitate to use force to defend U.S. and allied interests if required,” she added.
