Iran Will Not Give Up Nuclear Technology Under Any Circumstances: Araghchi

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has firmly declared that the country will never give up its nuclear technology, regardless of the circumstances. Addressing the media, Araghchi emphasized that Iran has made significant efforts and sacrifices to achieve nuclear advancement.

“Our scientists have worked tirelessly, and our nation has borne many hardships on this path,” he stated, adding that under the pretense of nuclear armament, Iran had even faced war.

He reaffirmed Iran’s steadfast commitment to continuing its nuclear programme, underlining that it is an essential part of the country’s scientific progress.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI), Behrouz Kamalvandi, echoed these sentiments. He stated that Iran’s nuclear programme is solely for peaceful purposes and is a deeply rooted component of the nation’s scientific and technological framework. “This industry cannot be dismantled by external force,” he said. “Our capabilities make its development inevitable. It cannot be halted.”

These statements came in the wake of an unauthorized strike by the United States on three key Iranian nuclear facilities — Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan — all of which are under the full oversight of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Following the attack, former U.S. President Donald Trump claimed the objective was to “destroy” Iran’s nuclear programme.

In response, Araghchi asserted that Iran’s nuclear infrastructure is built on local expertise and “cannot be erased with bombs.” He stressed the resilience and determination of the Iranian people to defend and maintain their nuclear progress.

Additionally, Iran’s nuclear chief, Mohammad Eslami, stated on Tuesday that Iran is currently evaluating the extent of damage caused by the recent U.S. and Israeli strikes. According to Mehr News, Eslami confirmed that steps are being taken to ensure the continuity of nuclear production and services. “We are working to prevent any disruption in our operations,” he said, signaling Iran’s intention to restore and advance its nuclear capabilities despite external aggression.
