Islamabad – June 26, 2025:
A retail outlet of leading fashion brand J. (Junaid Jamshed) located in PWD, Islamabad, has been sealed by court orders for failing to clear outstanding dues owed to the Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI).

The action was taken under Section 83 of the Land Revenue Act, 1967, in compliance with a directive from the court of the Assistant Collector (Grade I). The notice posted on the premises states that the outlet is being distrained due to non-payment and will remain sealed until further orders from the court.
The official notice, dated June 26, 2025, is affixed to a glass railing inside the store and is visibly marked with the business name “Junaid Jamshed (J.)” handwritten in red ink. It warns the public that any transactions or dealings with the sealed property are prohibited and may result in legal consequences.
This enforcement move underscores the government’s effort to crack down on defaulters and ensure compliance with mandatory employee welfare contributions. EOBI dues are required by law to provide pensions and benefits to private-sector workers, and failure to comply can result in legal action, including property seizure.
J., a flagship fashion label in Pakistan, has not yet issued an official statement regarding the sealing of its PWD outlet. The incident is likely to raise concerns about transparency and legal compliance in Pakistan’s retail sector, particularly among large and well-known brands.
Further action may be taken by authorities if the dues are not cleared or if other outlets are also found in violation of EOBI regulations.
