Police in Dadu stopped an underage marriage and took action against those involved. The operation was carried out after authorities received information about the planned marriage of a 12-year-old girl.
According to officials, the incident took place within the jurisdiction of the A-Section Police Station in Dadu. After receiving the report, a police team quickly moved to prevent the marriage from taking place.
The raid was led by Station House Officer (SHO) Liaquat Ali Sarki. During the operation, officers took the underage girl into protective custody. The action was taken to ensure her safety and prevent a violation of child marriage laws.
As part of the operation, Police arrest the groom, identified as Raja Panhwar, along with his father, Niaz Panhwar. Both were detained during the raid and later booked in connection with the case.
Officials said a formal case has been registered under the Child Marriage Act. The case includes charges against the groom, the nikahkhwan who conducted the marriage ceremony, and the parents of both the bride and groom. Authorities stated that all individuals involved could face legal proceedings under the relevant laws.
The Police arrest was made as part of ongoing efforts to enforce laws that prohibit child marriages in Pakistan. Law enforcement agencies have been instructed to take strict action against anyone found violating these regulations.
