Humaira Asghar’s Brother Denies Rift Rumors, Takes Custody of Her Body

Humaira Asghar’s Brother Denies Rift Rumors, Takes Custody of Her Body

The family of actress and model Humaira Asghar has finally reached Karachi to receive her body, which was found decomposed in her apartment several days ago. Her remains had remained unclaimed in cold storage, drawing public attention and criticism over the family’s delayed response.

Her brother, Naveed Asghar, addressed the media outside the SSP South office to clear the air. He stated that the family had not abandoned Humaira Asghar, contrary to what had been reported. “We were in contact with both police and Chhipa Welfare Association. There were legal formalities to complete,” Naveed said.

He added that Humaira Asghar had not been in touch for the past six months because her phone was switched off and she traveled frequently. He also mentioned that the family was going through a tough time emotionally after the death of a close relative.

Naveed clarified that despite the lack of recent contact, they had always been concerned about her. “The media calls after her death were overwhelming and painful for our family,” he added.

SSP South Mahzoor Ali also spoke to the press and confirmed that legal procedures were being completed to hand over the body. He stated that Humaira Asghar’s brother and brother-in-law planned to take her body to Lahore for burial.

He revealed that her contact with the family had ended around October 2024. No utility bills had been paid since, and evidence suggested she likely passed away around that time. The building had only two flats per floor, and the neighboring one was vacant until February 2025, which may explain why her death went unnoticed.

The family has not raised any suspicions and is now awaiting the post-mortem report. Authorities continue to investigate the timeline of events leading to her tragic death.
