Haseebullah Khan Denies England Switch Rumours, Reaffirms Loyalty to Pakistan

Young wicketkeeper-batter Haseebullah Khan has firmly denied rumours suggesting he is planning to switch from Pakistan to England cricket.

The 22-year-old clarified that he is currently in England only for his county cricket contract and sponsorship responsibilities. He took to Instagram on Sunday to address the growing speculation, calling the reports “baseless.”

Haseebullah Khan stated, “I have arrived in England in connection with my domestic county contract and sponsorship obligations.” He emphasized that his visit has nothing to do with a change in national allegiance.

The rumour first spread on social media, particularly Facebook, where a post claimed that Haseebullah had met with agents from the England Cricket Board (ECB) to discuss his cricketing future. However, the cricketer was quick to respond and shut down the false claims.

“I remain fully committed to representing my country, Pakistan, with utmost dedication and passion,” Haseebullah Khan added in his statement.

He also urged fans and media outlets to avoid sharing misinformation and thanked his supporters. “I kindly request everyone to refrain from spreading false rumours. Thanks for your continued support. Pakistan Zindabad.”

Haseebullah Khan has represented Pakistan in three T20 Internationals so far, scoring 36 runs at an average of 12. He was part of the Quetta Gladiators squad in the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) but featured in only one match, scoring seven runs.

In his overall T20 career, he has played 35 matches, scoring 599 runs at an average of 19.96. His strike rate stands at 118.37, and he has recorded three half-centuries.

Despite the online chatter, Haseebullah Khan remains focused on his cricketing journey with Pakistan and looks forward to further contributing to his national side.
