Shaheen Force Officers Suspended for Assaulting Citizen in Karachi

A shocking incident in Liaquatabad, Karachi, has raised questions about police conduct after personnel from the Shaheen Force allegedly assaulted a civilian. The man was reportedly beaten for recording a video of the officials at a local tea hotel.

The incident, captured on CCTV cameras, quickly went viral on social media and triggered public outrage. According to reports, the altercation began when a civilian started filming Shaheen Force personnel while they were present at the hotel. The officials allegedly demanded that he hand over his phone. When he refused, they violently attacked him.

Following the uproar, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Central took swift disciplinary action. Two constables of the Shaheen Force, identified as Ehtisham and Roshan Khan, were suspended from duty. Authorities have emphasized that no misuse of power will be tolerated.

An official inquiry into the incident has also been launched. The investigation is being led by SDPO Liaquatabad, Waseem Muhammad, who has been directed to submit a detailed report. Officials confirmed that strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty of misconduct.

Police officials reassured the public that the case is being handled seriously. They urged citizens to remain calm and allow the inquiry process to proceed. The suspension of the two personnel, they said, reflects the department’s commitment to accountability.

The incident has once again highlighted concerns about the behavior of law enforcement officials and the need for greater oversight. Social media users have demanded that the inquiry be transparent and that the victim receive justice.

For now, the inquiry continues, with the Karachi police promising that appropriate measures will be taken to address the situation and restore public trust.
