King Charles Sends Birthday Wishes to Duke of Gloucester

King Charles and Queen Camilla extended warm wishes to the Duke of Gloucester on his 81st birthday, celebrated on Tuesday.

The Royal Family shared the message on X, formerly Twitter, along with a photo of the Duke. The post read: โ€œHappy Birthday to The Duke of Gloucester!โ€ The gesture highlighted the close ties within the family and the importance of honoring senior royals.

The Duke of Gloucester, a cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II, is a full-time working royal. He continues to support King Charles in his role as Head of State and attends national and international events. His duties include representing the monarchy at significant occasions and supporting causes close to his heart.

Each year, the Duke carries out hundreds of official engagements across the UK and abroad. He is associated with over 150 charities and organizations, many of which reflect his interests in architecture, conservation, heritage, and humanitarian issues.

The Dukeโ€™s commitment to architecture and the built environment is long-standing. In 1972, he was elected a corporate member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. He also serves as President of the Scottish Society of the Architect-Artists and holds fellowships with the Institution of Structural Engineers and the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland.

King Charles has often emphasized the value of public service, and the Duke of Gloucesterโ€™s lifelong dedication aligns with this vision. His work continues to make a significant impact, particularly in the areas of conservation and veteran welfare.

By recognizing the Dukeโ€™s birthday, King Charles and Queen Camilla not only paid tribute to a family member but also acknowledged his enduring role in public service.
