NADRA Launches Fast-Track Registration for Flood Victims

ISLAMABAD – The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a fast-track registration campaign to support flood-affected families in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The initiative is designed to provide quick access to identity services and ensure smooth inclusion in relief programs.

In partnership with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), NADRA has deployed mobile registration units to Swat and Buner. These teams are providing on-the-spot Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) and urgent registrations to help families qualify for government aid and social protection schemes.

According to officials, the mobile teams have already visited several flood-hit areas, including Lundikass and Babuzai in Swat, as well as multiple villages in Buner. The efforts aim to ensure that displaced residents have valid CNICs, which are necessary for receiving relief assistance.

The campaign comes after devastating monsoon floods damaged villages, forced families to flee their homes, and destroyed key infrastructure across the province. Humanitarian organizations such as OneUmmah and Penny Appeal are also supporting affected communities with food supplies, clean water, and hygiene kits.

Separately, NADRA has updated fees for the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) in countries including Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. The NICOP is an important identity document for nationals living abroad and their family members. It provides official recognition as Pakistani citizens and grants access to various services and benefits at home and overseas.

Officials emphasized that NADRA remains committed to making identity registration easier for both local and overseas Pakistanis. The authority’s ongoing relief-focused operations highlight its role in supporting vulnerable communities during natural disasters while also addressing the needs of citizens abroad.
