Pakistan Launches PM Electric Bike & Rickshaw Scheme 2025

ISLAMABAD: The government has launched the PM Electric Bike and Rickshaw Scheme 2025 under the PAVE program. The initiative promotes eco-friendly and affordable transport options across Pakistan.

The scheme provides interest-free loans with government subsidies, helping students, daily wage earners, delivery riders, and small business owners purchase electric bikes, rickshaws, and loaders. Monthly installments are flexible and zero-interest.

Key Details:

  • Registration: September 1–30, 2025
  • E-balloting: October 1, 2025, if applications exceed quotas
  • Subsidy: Up to Rs50,000 for bikes and Rs200,000 for rickshaws
  • Installments: 2–3 years, interest-free

Special Quotas: 25% for women, 10% for delivery riders, and 10% for applicants from Balochistan. Priority goes to students and low-income workers.

Eligibility: Pakistani citizens aged 18–65 (bikes) and 21–65 (rickshaws/loaders) with valid licenses, CNIC, and no loan defaults.

Applicants can register at pave.gov.pk, upload required documents, and complete verification through NADRA and banks. Selected participants will be notified via SMS or email.

Benefits of the PM Scheme: The program provides affordable transport, reduces fuel costs, and supports green commuting. It empowers women and students, enhances mobility, and boosts the electric vehicle industry in Pakistan.

The scheme is aligned with the National Electric Vehicle Policy 2025–30, targeting 30% of all new vehicles sold to be electric by 2030. Officials say the program reflects the PM’s commitment to climate-friendly solutions, economic development, and sustainable transport.

The initiative is expected to generate employment, foster industrial growth, and contribute to reducing urban air pollution, marking a major milestone in Pakistan’s green energy transition.
