Preparations are almost complete for the 41st International Carpet Exhibition, scheduled to take place in Lahore from October 7 to 9, 2025. The event is being organized by the Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) in collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
Chairman Riaz Ahmed, who is leading the carpet exhibition, said that over 100 foreign companies from 40 countries are expected to participate. He expressed confidence that the exhibition will boost Pakistan’s hand-knitted carpet industry and strengthen export earnings.
Ahmed noted that India has also announced a similar carpet exhibition, which presents a challenge. However, he assured that organizers in Pakistan are working tirelessly to ensure success. With strong institutional support from TDAP and other stakeholders, he believes the event will achieve remarkable results.
The chairman explained that the main goal of the carpet exhibition is to showcase Pakistan’s craftsmanship on the global stage. Both traditional and modern designs will be displayed, highlighting the country’s cultural heritage and innovation. He emphasized that the exhibition is not just about trade but also about building long-term partnerships with international buyers.
According to him, the event will act as a living museum of quality carpets, reflecting superior skills and creative artistry. It will also give industry leaders valuable insights into emerging global trends. Ahmed added that India’s decision to arrange a similar event underscores Pakistan’s growing competitiveness in the international market.
The upcoming carpet exhibition is expected to draw significant attention from foreign buyers and investors. Organizers are optimistic that the event will support export growth, create new opportunities for artisans, and contribute to Pakistan’s economy through increased foreign exchange earnings.
