OGDC collaborates with Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) to organise Hepatitis C Elimination Camps across Punjab and Sindh. The initiative provides free screening, diagnostic tests, medical consultations, and essential medicines.
This effort is part of OGDCβs Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, aimed at improving healthcare access for communities in its operational areas. The camps will operate at OGDC healthcare facilities in Chakwal, Attock, Gujjar Khan, and Dera Ghazi Khan in Punjab, and Hyderabad, Sanghar, and Ghotki in Sindh.
The initial phase of the camps will run from September 23 to December 11, 2025. Two follow-up rounds are scheduled: the first from September 30 to December 18, 2025, and the second from March 31 to June 18, 2026. Officials say this phased approach ensures continuous monitoring and treatment of patients.
This is the latest example of OGDCβs dedication to healthcare initiatives. Earlier in 2025, the company donated three Mobile Eye Operation Theatre Units to Al-Shifa Trust Hospital. It also organised 35 free surgical eye camps nationwide, providing cataract surgeries, consultations, and eyeglasses to thousands of patients.
According to OGDC representatives, these programmes support the companyβs commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being). By offering free medical services, OGDC collaborates with leading healthcare institutions to address pressing health challenges in Pakistan.
Health experts praised the initiative, noting that early diagnosis and treatment of Hepatitis C can significantly reduce long-term health complications. By partnering with AKUH, OGDC ensures professional medical oversight and high-quality care for all beneficiaries.
The company aims to expand such healthcare initiatives in other districts in the future. Through strategic partnerships, OGDC collaborates to provide accessible, sustainable, and inclusive healthcare to underserved communities nationwide.
