No Trophy Photoshoot as Pakistan and India Gear Up for Asia Cup 2025 Final

DUBAI – Cricket fans around the world are bracing for a historic showdown as Pakistan and India meet in the Asia Cup 2025 final for the first time. The highly anticipated clash is being described as the most hyped match in the tournament’s history.

Traditionally, the captains of both teams pose for pictures with the trophy a day before the final. However, tournament organizers confirmed that no such event has been scheduled this time. A final decision on the photo session is expected only before the match begins tomorrow.

Tensions between the two sides have grown since the group stage. On September 14 in Dubai, Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav sparked controversy by refusing to shake hands with Pakistani players. He also made political remarks, dedicating India’s victory to the Pulagam incident and the Indian Army.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) filed an official complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC), citing a breach of the code of conduct. In response, the Indian cricket board also lodged complaints against Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf for their on-field gestures. The ICC took action by fining Yadav and Rauf 30% of their match fees and issuing a warning to Farhan.

On the field, India has been dominant throughout the Asia Cup 2025, winning all their group and Super Four matches. Their dramatic win against Sri Lanka in a Super Over underlined their strong form. Pakistan, despite losing twice to India, secured their spot in the final with victories over Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

This will be the first time Pakistan and India face each other in an Asia Cup final since the tournament’s inception in 1984. It will also be their third meeting in the current edition. With the rivalry already at its peak, tomorrow’s final promises to be one of the most memorable encounters in cricket history.
