The China-Pakistan TVET-Industrial Center of Excellence (CPTICE) successfully organized the Pakistan-China International TVET-Industrial Cooperation and Exchange Seminar in Beijing. The Beijing seminar gathered senior officials from Pakistan and representatives of 11 Chinese vocational institutions across nine provinces to boost cooperation in technical and vocational education.
Federal Minister of State for Education and Professional Training, Ms. Wajiha Qamar, attended the Beijing seminar and was appointed as the official focal person for industry linkage of CPTICE. In her remarks, she underlined the strategic importance of TVET collaboration for Pakistanβs youth empowerment and economic development.
The minister also reviewed progress on 12 projects launched during the Prime Ministerβs visit to China. She urged faster implementation in sectors such as electric vehicles, agriculture, and infrastructure. During the event, five MoUs were signed between CPTICE and Chinese institutions in areas including water resources, intelligent manufacturing, and urban construction.
Membership plaques of the Pakistan-China International Industrial-Academic Integration Alliance (CPIA) were awarded to all 11 Chinese institutions. In addition, appointment letters were presented to the first batch of eight Chinese experts specializing in digital construction, automotive, agriculture, and pharmaceutical engineering. These experts will strengthen CPTICEβs resource pool for future collaboration.
A key achievement of the Beijing seminar was the announcement of a Teacher Training Platform for Pakistan. This initiative will utilize Chinaβs advanced TVET experience to improve teaching methods, curriculum design, and skill development for Pakistani instructors. Experts believe this will strengthen Pakistanβs capacity to independently develop vocational education.
The seminar highlighted the shared commitment of both countries to deepen TVET cooperation under the CPTICE framework. It also reinforced Pakistanβs aim of becoming a skilled talent hub and advancing a closer Pakistan-China partnership with mutual benefits.
