The 9th Annual Microfinance Conference (AMC-9) will take place in Karachi from October 7 to 9, 2025. This year’s Microfinance Conference is themed “Renaissance of Microfinance” and will focus on revitalizing the sector’s role in sustainable and inclusive growth.
The event is being organized by the Pakistan Microfinance Network (PMN) in collaboration with UNIDO-PAIDAR. It will bring together policymakers, regulators, development partners, and industry leaders to shape the future of financial inclusion in Pakistan.
Representatives from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), World Bank, and Asian Development Bank (ADB) are expected to attend. Innovators and experts from across the sector will also share insights.
The Microfinance Conference will feature keynote speeches by national and international experts, panel discussions on critical policy and innovation issues, and networking opportunities. Key areas of discussion include agriculture finance, climate risk adaptation, women’s financial inclusion, and the role of blended finance in supporting SMEs and rural enterprises.
Integration between microfinance institutions and fintech companies, as well as inclusive insurance, will also be highlighted as future priorities. These discussions aim to build stronger partnerships and modernize the sector.
Speaking about the conference, Amir Khan, Chairman of PMN, and Ahsan Gaylani, UNIDO Representative, said the AMC-9 will act as a national platform to reflect on achievements of the past two decades. They stressed that embracing innovation and inclusion can transform microfinance into a driver of economic change and social justice in Pakistan.
By bringing together diverse stakeholders, the Microfinance Conference is expected to generate actionable strategies for strengthening financial access, supporting vulnerable communities, and positioning microfinance as a catalyst for sustainable development.
