West Indies ended their T20I series on a high with a commanding 10-wicket victory over Nepal in the third match. The game, however, was a dead rubber as Nepal had already sealed the series by winning the first two encounters.
Nepal batted first but failed to build strong partnerships. They were dismissed for 122 runs in 19.5 overs. Kushal Bhurtel top-scored with 39, but the rest of the batting order collapsed under pressure.
West Indies bowlers were clinical from the start. Ramon Simmonds delivered the best spell, taking four wickets for just 15 runs. Jediah Blades supported him with two wickets, while Akeal Hosein and Jason Holder picked one each. The disciplined bowling effort restricted Nepal well below a competitive total.
In reply, West Indies chased down the target with ease. Openers Amir Jangoo and Ackeem Auguste dominated the innings. Jangoo smashed 74 not out off 45 balls, while Auguste contributed an unbeaten 41 from 29 balls. Together, they guided West Indies to 123 runs in just 12.2 overs, with all 10 wickets in hand.
The win provided some relief for West Indies, who had already lost the series after defeats in the first two games. For Nepal, the series was historic as they recorded their first-ever bilateral T20I series win over a full ICC member. However, the heavy loss in the final game showed areas where their batting depth still needs improvement.
Despite the dead rubber status, West Indies will take confidence from the emphatic finish, while Nepal will cherish their series triumph as a landmark moment in their cricketing journey.
