COLOMBO: Pakistani spinner Nashra Sandhu etched her name in cricket history with a remarkable performance against Australia in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025.

The left-arm spinner took three crucial wickets, dismissing Ellyse Perry, Annabel Sutherland, and Tahlia McGrath, leading Pakistan’s bowling attack with precision and skill. Her performance not only strengthened Pakistan’s bowling lineup but also helped her achieve a major career milestone.

With this feat, Nashra Sandhu became Pakistan’s highest wicket-taker in Women’s World Cup history, securing 20 wickets in just 16 matches. She surpassed the previous record held by former captain Sana Mir, who had 17 wickets in 18 matches.

This achievement adds another chapter to Nashra’s impressive journey in women’s cricket. Known for her consistency and ability to break partnerships, the spinner continues to inspire young cricketers across Pakistan.

In addition to her World Cup record, Nashra Sandhu also matched Nida Dar’s career total in Women’s One Day Internationals (ODIs), becoming Pakistan’s joint second-highest wicket-taker with 108 wickets. Nashra reached this milestone in just 78 ODIs, compared to Nida Dar’s 112 matches.

The top position in Pakistan’s all-time ODI wicket-takers list remains with Sana Mir, who claimed 151 wickets in 120 matches.
